Being cast as Ned Parker in 2005 was Dan´s first professional acting experience and he admits it was a daunting challenge. "It´s been a very steep learning curve but I was determined to make it work and prove myself. I love to perform."
Dan certainly did prove himself. Since landing on the set of Neighbours, he has become one of the show´s most popular characters. He received a 2006 Logie nomination for Most Popular new Male Talent, was a finalist in Cleo´s 2006 Bachelor of the Year competition and was crowned the 'King of Teen' at the 2007 Dolly Teen Choice Awards. "To have that support and recognition is very overwhelming, you just couldn´t ask for better feedback," he says.
From a young age, Dan was passionate about music and entertaining. His formative years as a singer came through gospel music, singing for over 10 years in his local church band. Gospel music presented Dan with many opportunities to perform in front of huge crowds, once even singing in front of half a million people in Washington DC. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Dan entered himself in the 2004 Australian Idol competition "just to give it a go". He was more surprised than anyone to find himself in the top 12, appearing on national television in the hugely successful series.
Away from Neighbours, Dan has featured in the 2006 and 2007 UK Pantomime season where he played Prince Charming in Cinderella and Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk.
