Ledger Comes to Ramsay Street
14 Jul 2009

Heath Ledger’s little cousin Luke Ledger arrived on the set of Neighbours last week as an extra, a role he won through a competition in Dolly magazine.

Is he following in his older cousins footsteps? Like Heath, who began his career on the set of Home and Away, Ledger is excited to be given the opportunity to go on Neighbours and will welcome any opportunity which gives him a kick-start in the industry.

“It’s just a name,” he told the Sunday Telegraph. “Yeah he was a great role model, but no more so than many other actors.”

“I’m inspired by a lot of other Australian actors, I think this country has unique talent,” he said.

Luke Ledger, 16, is finishing his final year of school in Perth where he lives and is hoping to move into acting or film and television, following in the footsteps of his older cousin, Heath Ledger.

Although he doesn’t like to use his surname as a way to get into the industry, he is determined to prove that he is a talent in his own right.

“If something pops up I would take it and run with it,” Ledger said.
