A UK survey voted stalwart Ian Smith the most popular bloke in soap recently, and Smith was very pleased with this accolade saying, "Goodness gracious me that's given me a huge head."
"I enjoyed the show so much and had quite fallen in love with silly old fart Harold."
The English poll revealed that Harold's best friend Lou Carpenter (Tom Oliver) was third most popular bloke in soaps, Home and Away's Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) came in at No. 7 and Dr Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) at No. 10. Go Neighbours!
