Fast becoming one of the hottest music venues in town is Charlie’s on Ramsay Street, and you don't even have to leave home to get in!

Last year the Neighbours producer Neal Kingston invited a small number of indy bands to appear in selected episodes when a band was required for a scene in Charlies. Word quickly spread and appearances by Lily Allen, Veronicas and The Wombats have added cachet to the night spot.

"It’s great to have real bands and singers in Charlies and a fantastic opportunity to showcase a range of music genres including jazz, hip hop, pop rock, reggae, electro rock and celtic punk," said Kingston.

Lining up to raise the roof is Aboriginal singer James Henry, hip hop bands Koolism and True Lies, pop rockers Sophie Koh and Worldfly, celtic punks Go Set, reggae band Red Eyes and jazz singer and trumpet player Carl Riseley from Australian Idol, to name just a few.
