What you may not know is that in August this year the 6000th episode of Neighbours will be on air.
We are planning a ‘family’ party in a couple of weeks to celebrate turning 25. This will be a celebration involving past and present cast and crew and will be featured on the Neighbours website for you all to see. In August there will be a bigger celebration for the 6000th episode, so make sure you look out for that.
The story lines this year so far are pretty gutsy aren’t they? The whole Steph, Dan, Toadie and Libby story is quite radical. We discussed Steph and Dan getting together and the consequences of their actions over and over again before we decided what was best for the characters and the show. Then we had to talk to the actors involved. Of course they were shocked but became very excited about being part of such an amazing storyline that plays out over such a long time – over 6 months. It’s so explosive at the end. Wish I could tell you… but I can’t!
We also have fantastic stories leading up to the 6000th episode with a cliff-hanger you won’t believe. The consequences go on for ages too.
These storylines involve the possible return of a few past favourites and before you get too far down the track with that one, no, it’s not Charlene and Scott.
We all returned to the studios at Nunawading to a whole new back lot. You know it as Lassiter’s Complex. The old back lot was bulldozed over Christmas and the new one built in its place. It’s not all that different to the eye, all the favourites are still there but everything is fresher and ‘modernised’. We have added a new Erinsborough Newspaper office, Police Station and a University campus area. These new areas will be on air in May/June so keep an eye out. See if you can spot a few changes to a couple of sets too.
Please let me know what you’re thinking about the episodes at present and…don’t be too hard on Donna over the whole Andrew thing; don’t you love the year 11 triangle of Harry, Summer and Andrew and is Zeke heading for big trouble or what?
Celebrating 25 Years of Neighbours

Hello to you all! I can’t believe it’s March already. As most of you know this month marks the 25th Anniversary of Neighbours being on Australian television screens. What an amazing achievement and one of which we are all immensely proud.
