The music legend starred in a guest role playing opposite the show’s
longest on-air couple Karl and Susan Kennedy, played Alan Fletcher and
Jackie Woodburne.
Knight, who is now an acclaimed jazz performer, sang a duet with Fletcher
at the funeral service of a mutual friend. Knight was cast as the grieving
widow.
Neighbours launched in 1985 when Knight was at the peak of her career with
the Eurogliders topping the charts here and overseas.
“I’ve played singers before however while I did sing with Alan, it was also
a nice challenge to stretch myself with the acting side and I love trying
new things,” said Knight.
Fletcher, who performs with his own band Ubersavvy, was chuffed at the
opportunity to perform with Knight.
“Singing at a funeral together isn’t quite how imagined it would be,
however it was huge honour to sing alongside Grace,” Fletcher said.
