Melbourne actor Nathan Strauss has an identity crisis and he couldn’t be
happier.
Strauss encounters daily strangers calling out ‘Gidday Jason’ thanks to the
advertising campaign for the RACV he has been the face of for the past four
years.
However this week, Jason has been pushed aside for Luke Malliki, the
character Strauss is playing on Neighbours for three episodes opposite
Ashleigh Brewer.
“You could say Jason has taken over my life but definitely in a good way,”
laughed Strauss who is also a sought after theatre lighting specialist.
“Even my neighbour who knew me before the campaign calls me Jason now, it
has gone beyond the point that I can correct him.”
His friends are also in on the joke, “When we’re at the pub, my mates
deliberately greet me with ‘gidday Jason’ knowing that this will set off
the rest of the bar,”
Strauss’s episodes will screen in February.
