With no sign of Zeke on Ramsay Street, Harry pushes them to return to where they saw him last – the radio station, but they’re interrupted by an overnight cleaner. With pressure mounting, Robin suggests they check the radio station one last time, hoping he’ll be able to ‘rescue’ Zeke. As Sunny and Robin scour the station, Zeke tries to throw the mains power to attract some attention. As he does, the lights go out on Sunny and Robin. Guided by Sunny’s mobile phone light, Robin ‘discovers’ the storeroom and breaks Zeke out.
Sunny’s praise of Robin as the hero horrifies Zeke, who struggles to convince Sunny that it was Robin who imprisoned him in the first place.
After rekindling their romance, Lucas tries to continue the loving, but protecting her heart, Elle steers clear of intimacy in public. Fearing the worst, Lucas asks Elle if she’s embarrassed by him, but Elle insists she isn’t. Gathering up her courage, Elle reveals she needs Lucas. He needs her too, and faced with this, Elle decides to take the risk.
When Lyn overhears Libby discussing her marriage problems she’s tempted to use her friend’s crisis as material in her gossip column. Knowing it’s wrong, she tries to back out of her arrangement with Paul but he won’t let her off the hook. Cornered, she submits the article about Libby, but later realises the full ramifications of running the story. She goes to Susan for help, admitting she’s the gossip girl but not revealing she’s submitted an article about Libby. Susan agrees to help and the two of them go to the Erinsborough News under cover of night, hoping to retrieve the column before Paul reads it. When Susan discovers the true subject of the article she’s infuriated and turns her back on Lyn, leaving her alone to be caught red-handed by Paul.
Zeke is hurt that Sunny won’t believe Robin was the one who trapped him, and when Karl spots the bruise on Robin’s cheek, he gets on Zeke’s case too. But Zeke, along with some help from Sunny, proves that Robin was out for only one thing. Humiliated at being revealed as a manipulative liar, Robin lashes out at Zeke, but Zeke stands his ground, showing Robin that he must take responsibility for his actions.
Donna is surprised when her first day at Saffron’s fashion studio is not what she expected. Menial tasks make Donna question her career choice, and then Saffron puts her on the spot, demanding a new angle for a fashion show. Thinking fast, Donna puts Kate forward as a potential model, and Saffron snaps up the idea of using a dancer for the show. Donna fights to convince Kate to take part, but Kate’s suffering from sore feet from all her dance rehearsals. Donna promises to look after her, but when Kate is in most need, Donna chooses to look after her own career first.
Paul makes a deal with Lyn – he won’t have her charged for breaking into his office, if she will hand over the incriminating files she has on him. But he still has a hold over her – the article on Libby which she wrote and tried to delete. Paul ends up with the files, and still has the upper hand. Susan and Steph are both furious with Lyn about the article, but she manages to plead her way back into Susan’s favour. Steph, however, is another matter.
Elle shocks Paul by deciding to stay in Erinsborough with Lucas. Paul pressures Lucas to let Elle follow her heart. Lucas does, but fears he’ll lose her in the process.
After having to be dragged along to the work party by Lindsey, Donna gets a dressing down from Saffron and told she has to choose between her career and her friendships. Donna chooses her internship ahead of helping Kate with the Deb committee meeting, putting further strain on their friendship.
After his AFL experience, Ringo knows how fickle the world of fame and fortune can be and warns Donna not to sacrifice her principles. But her job is on the line and she uses an undiscovered designer’s idea to get back in Saffron’s good books. Saffron loves it but Donna doesn’t admit the design isn’t hers. Is she being corrupted by this new world already?
Toadie and Callum invite Lucas to look after Rocky to keep his mind off Elle. Lucas keeps up a brave front, but deep down, he’s missing her terribly and fears she may not return. I
nspired by Steph, Libby takes a more proactive approach to waiting for Dan to come back from New Zealand. Ignoring Karl’s concerns, she starts preparing for their future and gets pre-approval for a mortgage to buy Number Thirty-Two. She and Steph make plans for a private sale but Karl fears Libby is secretly punishing Dan by making decisions without him. He warns Steph that unless Libby and Dan start communicating properly, this could cause a real problem for their relationship.
Excitement builds in the Ramsay House as Kate’s showcase performance at the Ministry of Dance approaches where she will have the opportunity to convince Jason Coleman to represent her in his agency. However, when Sophie discovers she’s being presented a special school award on the same day, she tells Harry she’s determined to keep it a secret, knowing Kate would give up her all important performance to be there at the presentation. Life becomes more complicated when Kate asks Harry to accompany her and be her support on the big day. Harry finds himself between a rock and a hard place as he is forced to choose between his sisters. He decides it’s more important to support Kate’s once-in-a-lifetime chance, and although disappointed, Sophie concedes it’s the right choice. However, when Kate finds out about Sophie’s awards presentation, she sacrifices her future and walks away from her dream.
Libby engages Toadie to start the paperwork to buy Steph’s House, promising Karl she’ll tell Dan. When Ben accidentally finds out about his Mum’s plans, his excitement about moving house makes her even more resolved to bring Dan up-to-date with the arrangement. But her faith in Dan’s love is rocked when a call from the bank confirms he’s given $12,000 of their money to his ex-wife.
Guilt-stricken Donna can’t bring herself to admit she stole an undiscovered designer’s idea, even to Ringo. But sensing she’s troubled about the idea Saffron’s using, he encourages her to come up with a better one. She works hard, but Saffron’s set on using the stolen idea, and Donna realises this problem’s going to be tough to put right.
