Elle’s forced to accept Lucas’ help, while Rebecca becomes increasingly worried that Paul’s delay means something’s wrong. As Elle and Lucas discuss the state of their relationship under the guise of mechanical repairs, Paul’s only thoughts are with Rebecca - she deserves this to be the best day of her life and he doesn’t want to let her down. Paul’s determined to make sure Rebecca doesn’t believe he’s deserted her all over again but, even when he gets to the wedding on time, a shocking surprise arrival ruins everything.
Lyn claims she stopped Paul and Rebecca’s wedding in order to protect Paul from being arrested for bigamy, but Rebecca struggles to believe her. Hurt and embarrassed that she just can’t manage to marry her man, Rebecca’s pushed to her limits when she finds Lyn poking around the garden at the Parker house (the old Scully home). Their public spat ends in a physical tussle, which shocks the neighbours.
Susan finds herself caught between her two friends when Rebecca asks her to choose sides. Eager to put matters right, Paul demands a divorce from Lyn – but will she give it to him?
Callum orchestrates a meeting between Guide Dog Trainer Sonya and Toadie in a bid to improve Toadie’s romantic life. Toadie figures out Callum’s scheme but asks Sonya out on a date. When she declines on professional grounds, Toadie doesn’t know if it’s a sincere reason or a lame excuse. He’s further perplexed when, the next day, she agrees to a bike ride. Is it a date or simply a bike ride? But a chance meeting suggests that Sonya and Lucas have a secret history, and that’s compounded when Lucas pretends not to know her in front of Toadie.
Donna’s excited about the upcoming Debutante Ball, especially now she’s decided to give the event a modern twist and make it environmentally friendly. Dan’s also impressed with Donna’s idea and encourages her to enter a Climate Change Competition for schools. Donna’s riding high on her success, when all of a sudden Sunny decides to sabotage the event. She sets up a petition against the Deb and even goes so far as calling Donna a fake and a show-off. Their friendship naturally suffers. Kate can’t understand why Sunny is doing this. Finally, Sunny is forced to confess the truth. She did it all because she can’t dance.
Paul tells Rebecca of Lyn’s extortion and Rebecca agrees he shouldn’t pay Lyn a cent. When Toadie points out that Lyn could stall the wedding indefinitely, Rebecca decides to call Lyn’s bluff. She and Paul are going on their honeymoon regardless, and Lyn should be gone by the time they get back. Lyn plays on Steph’s sympathies to win a place on Ramsay Street for as long as she wants to be there.
Declan returns to school. Initially struggling when confronted by memories of Bridget, Declan pulls himself together and forges through.
Zeke’s anxiety escalates as he continues to protect Sunny. Harry remains seriously worried about his behaviour and when Karl invites himself to be a guest on Zeke’s radio show, Harry grabs the opportunity to get Zeke the help he needs. Karl tries to get Zeke to admit his problem but he can’t. Zeke knows what he is doing is irrational but it’s becoming harder and harder to control. When Karl catches him red-handed trying to ‘protect’ Sunny, he decides it’s time for Zeke to admit he has a problem. Zeke does so, but he also has a radical idea for how he might be cured.
Sunny apologises to Donna for trying to ruin the Deb, but Donna won’t be pacified. To prove that she’s serious about the Deb (as a way of proving she’s serious about her friendship with Donna) Sunny asks Kate to teach her how to dance. In doing so, Sunny discovers that Kate is a stunningly talented dancer. Kate downplays her talent, but when Donna forgives Sunny and becomes involved in their dance lessons, Kate is worried her dancing will become the talk of the school and swears her friends to secrecy. When Sunny injures herself during a lesson, will Kate’s new friends lie to protect her secret?
