Still oblivious to the accident, Declan calls Steve who is forced to relay the terrible news that Declan’s girls are missing. Contrary to the advice of a paramedic Steve joins the SES search party and finds Bridget and India. But the Parker family’s survival is far from certain.
Sunny’s honesty and awkward English gets her in trouble when she suggests that the teens have over-reacted because Bridget and Declan were telling the truth about them. Zeke is especially hurt that Sunny could take their side and questions if she sees him as an unstable guy with “issues”. Sunny protests that she likes Zeke for who he is, flaws and all. But she’s rubbed against Zeke’s deepest insecurities and his reaction leaves her wondering if their relationship can be repaired.
As Bridget undergoes emergency surgery, Steve, Declan and Zeke struggle with their own issues. Ramsay Street comes together to lend the Parkers moral support – but when Bridget comes round, she does so with a dark premonition of things to come.
In the wake of Bridget’s death, Declan finds himself unable to face India. Rebecca’s return from Portugal lands her in a grief-struck household, and soon she’s defending her son from the worries of Steve and Miranda. But Declan isn’t coping, and before long, Steve and Miranda announce they’re leaving the street, and taking India with them. With that, Rebecca knows she’ll have to fight to save her son.
The adults are concerned about how Callum, Sophie and Ben will deal with Bridget’s death. Ironically, Callum, Sophie and Ben are worried about how the adults are dealing with it. They manage to rope everyone into a baking competition, which achieves the kids’ aims: it keeps the adults’ minds off the loss that’s brought them together in the first place. But it also reminds Ben of the death of his Dad.
Having made the decision to give up India, Declan retreats into himself. When Kate learns of his decision she urges him not to give up. After a plea for help from Rebecca, Libby intervenes, counselling Declan that India needs him. But is Declan up to the challenge or is he about to lose the person most precious to him?
Elle is assigned the Parker accident story but Lucas urges that this is one story she has to drop. But seeing Steve’s guilt about not knowing if he was responsible, Elle pursues the case. She’s hoping to find evidence that clears Steve’s conscience, but Lucas rules out maintenance issues as a possible cause because the garage serviced the Parker car.
Elle catches a moment between Lucas and Steph and assuming it’s related to the accident, broaches it with Steph. But Steph mistakenly thinks Elle knows about her ill-fated feelings for Lucas – is she about to put her foot in it?
Ramsay Street prepares to farewell the Parker family. Facing what will be the hardest day of their lives, the Parkers are overwhelmed by the love and support of the community.
Elle lets Lucas have it with both barrels for not telling her about Steph. But her anger is fuelled by her insecurity: underneath it all, she’s scared he really would prefer biker Steph to princess Elle. When Lucas sees how upset she is, they reconcile. But a phone call changes everything.
