Block 1145
The Kennedy/Fitzgeralds face the disturbing prospect that the break-in to Karl and Susan’s was linked to the surrogacy controversy. Susan doesn’t want to believe it, but Karl is convinced and accosts Paul at Harold’s, blaming him for the threat to his family. Libby is frightened the threat may extend to her and convinces Dan and Toadie to ramp up the security at Number Thirty.

Paul tries to capitalise on the latest developments and tries to persuade Susan to write her side of the story. Susan refuses and Paul stokes the flame of controversy when he goes ahead and publishes a follow up article anyway. Libby falters under the pressure bearing down on her family, but Susan rises above personal fear and helps stiffen her resolve – until Paul uncovers some crushing news.

Zeke’s decision to move to Steph’s is derailed by the apparent threat to Susan. How can Zeke move out of home when his family needs him? But if he stays, Sunny has no alternative: she’ll have to leave Erinsborough.  Zeke’s forced to make a choice – look after his family or get the girl.

Libby’s rocked by the hospital’s decision to refuse her IVF treatment. When it becomes clear there’s no medical reason for the decision, she’s determined to take legal action. Dan’s against the idea, fearing it would place too much strain on Libby. She resents the idea that she can’t cope, but worries that a legal battle is asking too much of Susan. However Karl identifies with Libby’s need to fight for what’s right. Determined to stick up for his family, he decides to use public opinion to persuade the hospital, and is willing to sacrifice his job to do it.

Zeke’s impressed by Steph’s laid-back attitude to house-sharing. But when the Kennedys fail to involve him in the surrogacy drama, he feels dejected and acts out. A study-session at Steph’s house gets out of hand and Steph arrives home to find her lounge trashed and Ringo and Donna about to get amorous on her couch.

Dan’s furious that Karl’s taken their story to the paper again but Libby’s moved as she realises her Dad’s sacrificed his job for her sake. Emotions run high as she realises Toadie too has reservations about the surrogacy plan. Toadie clarifies that he supports her desire to have a baby but worries that the IVF fight is tearing apart the family he loves. When he sees the battle is actually helping the Kennedys unite, he goes in to bat for them. However his emotional involvement sees him stumble and make the situation even worse, causing Libby to fire him from the case.

The Parker-Napiers celebrate Bridget and Declan’s baby coming home but struggle to find a proper name for “Tadpole”, and Donna’s kooky suggestions are no help. Finally, by looking to her hopes for the future, Bridget and Declan find a name that is perfect.

Touched by Karl giving up his job, Susan shows her love with a risqué suggestion. But as Karl and Susan prepare to have some fun with their “Blue Box”, they’re aghast to find it is missing. They go on a mad hunt to track it down, before they’re mortified to discover it’s been found by Rebecca.

Seeing the Ramsays weighed down by work and parental obligations, Paul offers to put the inheritance they’re entitled to into a trust fund to ease their financial burdens. Loyalties are split however when Kate, lured by the promise of family, wants to accept and Harry, worried about betraying their mother’s memory, doesn’t. When Harry is forced to swallow his objections for Sophie’s sake, he channels his anger and frustration into an unlikely source – breaking into the Kennedy’s.

Toadie deeply regrets letting his emotions get the better of him during his meeting with the Hospital Board, but Dan and Libby have made it clear they’re going with another lawyer. Lucas helps Toadie rebuild his self-confidence, and Toadie is determined to do whatever he can to help Dan and Libby’s situation.

Unable to soothe baby India, Bridget resists asking for help from Miranda because she feels it’s an admission of failure. Conscious of not overstepping the mark, Miranda resists offering assistance until Steve shows her that Bridget doesn’t need answers; she just needs her mother.

S
usan persuades Lou and Lucas to let her deal with Harry herself but struggles to get to the bottom of his break-in. While he accepts responsibility for the earlier intrusion, he won’t explain what he was doing in her house. Susan discovers he was after the keyboard but Harry begs her not to tell Kate what he’s done. Susan agrees to keep his confidence on the condition that he plays something for her. Reluctant Harry plays and loses himself in the music. Susan learns that it was his late mother that taught him to play and a new bond is formed between them.

Steph is finding it harder to resist Lucas’s charms so she resolves to stop spending time with him outside work. However, when Lucas buys age-inappropriate toys for India and offers them to Charlie instead, Steph can’t help but fantasise about what life might be like if they were together. She pulls herself together to refuse his offer of a drink but Susan advises her that ignoring the problem won’t make it go away. Resolved to get her feelings out into the open, Steph heads to the garage to talk to Lucas but finds him in the middle of a very dodgy poker game. Has she just walked into some serious trouble?

The Parker House becomes Baby Central and Mickey begins to resent it. Miranda and Steve assume it’s a simple case of sibling rivalry and that he’s jealous of all the attention the baby is getting. However, Lou discovers that it’s more complicated that. Seeing the bond between parents and children has reminded him of his own mother. Now that Kirsten’s condition is improving, is it time for him to be with his own parents?
