Eighteen year old Ashleigh Brewer had her return flight to Brisbane booked when she came to Melbourne to scout around local casting agents never imagining she would be offered an on-going role on Neighbours as Kate Ramsay.
“Way beyond any expectations, a dream come true,” said Ashleigh who finished Year 12 last year with impressive results.
In between her school studies, Ashleigh has had guest roles in H2O just add water, Sleepover Club and Blue Heelers.
The only daughter of a school principal and businessman, Ashleigh was always interested in performing arts which her parents supported whole-heartily.
“It’s very different from what they do and they have been behind me all the way,” said Ashleigh who is also a trained dancer and still attends classes.
Ashleigh’s debut on Neighbours with on-screen siblings Harry (Will Moore) and Sophie (Kaiya Jones) in May marks the return of the ‘Ramsay’ name to Ramsay Street.
“I almost feel like viewers know Kate already because of the Ramsay history which makes playing her even more exciting,” said Ashleigh.
Ashleigh now resides in Melbourne.
