Neighbours

Kym Valentine has been part of the Neighbours family for 15 years and like her character, feels she has grown up on Ramsay Street.

In 1994 at the age of 17 Kym left Sydney to join the long-running series as the head-strong Libby Kennedy.  In 2004 she took three years off to pursue another acting ambition – playing the lead role of Baby in the hit musical Dirty Dancing. After touring around Australia for two years, the 32-year-old took a well earned break and spent a year at home in Melbourne with her six-year-old daughter Milana.

To the delight of fans, Kym returned to Neighbours in 2007 resuming her role as Libby.

"I really felt like I was coming home and it was very easy to slip back into the role of Libby, she’s like an old friend,” says Kym Valentine. “Plus she was older and the writers were able to do a lot more with her so it was a great time to return.”

Kym began her acting career at the early age of five years old, appearing in many commercials before gaining roles in Brides of Christ, My Two Wives and Home and Away.

An avid Carlton football club follower, Kym lives in Melbourne with her daughter and is a passionate supporter of Challenge – Kids With Cancer and many other organisations devoted to ill children.
